Suit challenges culling of geese in Denver to feed the needy
An animal rights group has filed a lawsuit challenging the legality of a recent goose culling in Denver that delivered the meat to a food pantry.
KDVR-TV reports that Friends of Animals filed the U.S. District Court suit Tuesday against Colorado Wildlife Services, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
It claims the culling of more than 2,000 Canada geese in Denver for human consumption was illegal.
Officials say the captured geese were cooked and served by an unidentified organization to families in need.
The agencies declined comment on the suit.
