16th Annual Pikes Peak Derby Soap Box Derby hits the streets!

For the 16th year in a row, derby cars hit the streets in downtown Colorado Springs.

30 participants rode down Costilla Street, all racing for first place.

The Stock Division winner is Matthew Mueller! He will represent Colorado Springs at the International All American Soap Box Derby in Ohio on July 20th.

Coming in second place was Genevieve Speer, and following behind in third was Brody Kimsey.

For the Super Stock Division, coming in first place was Jermiah Lamplley. In second, Marriya Robison, and in third was Izaac Garcia.

The drivers of the derby cars have to be between the ages of 7 and 21, but they must build their own car to qualify for the race.
