Trucker arrested in Co. Springs for pointing gun on I-25
A semi-truck driver who allegedly pointed a handgun at another man while driving on Interstate 25 in Douglas County was caught and arrested near downtown Colorado Springs.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says deputies got a report that the driver pointed a handgun at a victim after a possible traffic altercation near mile marker 184. That’s in Castle Rock.
Deputies, along with the Colorado State Patrol, responded and started investigating. CSP ended up stopping the truck driver near the Uintah Street exit of I-25 in Colorado Springs.
The driver was identified as 37-year-old James W. Abney. Abney was arrested for menacing, a class-five felony. He’s currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
