Midway family forced out by house fire Monday night

Units from Hanover, Fountain and Security-Widefield responded to a house fire Monday night on Boca Chica Heights in the Midway community of southern El Paso County.
Firefighters said they responded to the home at around 7 p.m. after one of five adults residents said the fire appeared to have started near the chimney.

Intense flames were showing from the roof when fire crews arrived, casting a glow around the neighborhood. They brought the fire under control in 30 minutes.

Firefighters said they contained the fire to the attic, but the rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported.
