Colorado Springs mother on the run, wanted for murder of her 2 children
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is asking for help locating a mother accused of killing two of her children and injuring another.
CSPD responded to a burglary call in the 5300 block of Palomino Ranch Point on Dec. 19.
Once on the scene, CSPD says that officers found an adult female and an 11-year-old female who had sustained injuries. Two other juveniles, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, were found dead in the residence.
Police identified the adult female as 35-year-old Kimberlee Singler, who is the mother of all three children in the residence.
CSPD says that Singler and her 11-year-old daughter were treated for their injuries on the scene by the Colorado Springs Fire Department and American Medical Response before being transported to local hospitals for further medical treatment.
Police say that the 11-year-old is now safe and being taken care of.
The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
As the investigation into this case unfolded police say it was determined the initial report of a burglary was unfounded.
On Dec. 26, investigators established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant for Kimberlee Singler on the following charges.
- 2 counts – 18-3-102(1)(a), Murder in the First Degree, Class One Felony (F1)
- 2 counts – 18-3-102(1)(f), Murder in the First Degree, Class One Felony (F1)
- 1 count – 18-2-101, Criminal Attempt – Murder in the First Degree (18-3-102(1)(a)), Class Two Felony (F2)
- 1 count – 18-2-101, Criminal Attempt – Murder in the First Degree (18-3-102(1)(f)), Class Two Felony (F2)
- 2 counts – 18-6-401(7)(a)(i), Child Abuse, Class Two Felony (F2)
- 1 count – 18-6-401(7)(a)(iii), Child Abuse, Class Three Felony (F3)
- 1 count – 18-3-202, Assault in the First Degree, Class Three Felony (F3)
CSPD says that a $10,000,000 bond was set by the court. The details of the arrest warrant are currently sealed under court order and are expected to be unsealed at a later time.
When the warrant was issued, CSPD’s Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force began efforts to locate Singler to arrest her.
CSPD says that she was last seen on Saturday, December 23, 2023, and her current whereabouts are unknown.
