Colorado Springs named 5th best city for jobs in the U.S.

Colorado Springs has a lot more than just the natural beauty of the mountains to offer those who make their way to the Front Range, the city also has more job opportunities than most U.S. cities.

According to a new study published this week by Wallet Hub, the Springs was near the top of the list of Best Cities for Jobs, coming in at number five behind San Francisco; Orlando; Columbia, Maryland; and Scottsdale, Arizona. The full study ranked 180 cities in the U.S.

WalletHub took quite a few factors into account, but one of the main drivers for Colorado Springs’ high mark is that the city had the highest employment growth in the entire country. The study also factored in starting salaries, unemployment rates, and lifestyles in the city.

It’s just the latest report for the city to boast about — last year, Colorado Springs landed on multiple “Best Of” lists, including best place to live for veterans, top housing market, 4th most business-friendly city, number two best place to retire, and number two best place to live in the U.S., among others.

Denver also made the list at number 13 and ranked two places higher than Springs in “socio-economics” rank.
