Victim identified in Musket Drive shooting
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 800 block of Musket Drive on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased male, as well as a second adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was subsequently transported with serious injuries to a local hospital for treatment. The homicide unit responded to investigate.
The El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy of the deceased male. He was identified as 19-year-old Marcus Plummer of Denver, CO. The exact cause and manner of death is still unknown, but is being investigated as a homicide.
According to CSPD, it appears that Plummer used a firearm to attempt to rob two adult males in the parking lot of an apartment complex. After a struggle with one of the males, one of the victims of the attempted robbery sustained a gunshot wound. He is expected to survive. Plummer also suffered at least one gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries. One firearm was located at the scene.
