Woman shot while driving around southeast Colorado Springs

A woman was driving around southeast Colorado Springs when she was shot in the leg late Thursday night.

The woman said she passed another vehicle at the intersection of Capulin Drive and Shenendoah around 11:43 p.m. when she heard a crackle, saw an orange flash and felt something warm on her right leg. She realized she had been shot and drove to a convenience store where she contacted 911.

The woman was transported to the hospital where she was treated for her wound.

She was unable to provide any suspect information, and could only describe the suspect vehicle as dark in color and larger than the vehicle she drove.

Officers searched the area where the shooting occurred and could not find any evidence. A neighborhood canvas did not bring up any new information.
