One more summery day, changes to follow – 10/3/18

TODAY: Skies will be mostly sunny and our temperatures will be on the warm side today. Most places in the lower elevations will be in the 80s and 90s. Mountain cities will warm into the 60s and 70s today. Showers and storms will pop up over the mountains and along the Palmer Divide sometime after 4PM and will become more numerous following sunset.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and some thunder will continue off and on tonight. Lows will be in the 40s to near 50.

EXTENDED: Following today, things are going to be changing drastically. Highs will be much cooler and will fall to the 60s for Thursday and Friday. This is also coming with increased chances for showers. That wet weather trend will carry over into the weekend and highs continue to topple into the 50s and 60s. By Sunday and Monday, our mountain cities will feel the 40s and could see a rain snow mix. Higher terrain areas in El Paso County could even get in on the action. If the cold air continues to verify, our first freeze could occur next week.
