Pikes Peak breaks record, over 500,000 visitors

For the first time ever, America’s Mountain has welcomed over 500,000 annual visitors.

Through Sept. 30, 527,696 people have traveled Pikes Peak. Last year the mountain welcomed 498,722 visitors.The 103-year-old highway has seen year-over-year growth since 2013.

The highway has seen an enormous amount of traffic, but many visitors took the new shuttle to reach the peak. The shuttle launched in early June and according to the Pikes Peak manager, is a huge success.
