Colorado Springs woman arrested for stabbing man in chest

A 29-year-old woman is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly stabbing a man in the chest Saturday in Colorado Springs.

It happened Saturday; Colorado Springs police officers went to the 1200 block of Delaware Dr. for the disturbance call, and the victim arrived at a hospital with a stab wound to the chest shortly after the call.

The victim is expected to survive through the serious injury, and detectives followed up to figure out what led to the stabbing.

According to CSPD, it started as an argument between the man and his partner, Mercedes Broadus. It’s not clear what started the disturbance, but police say it escalated, and that’s when Broadus stabbed the man in the chest.

Broadus was contacted by police at the hospital. She was arrested for first-degree attempted murder.
