Heavy rain creates flash flooding concerns for Southern Colorado

Heavy, slow moving showers and storms are rolling through Southern Colorado this evening and are creating flash flooding concerns.

6:39 p.m. – The flash flood warning for Custer, Freemont and Pueblo Counties has been CANCELLED.

5:23 p.m. – AN AREAL FLOOD ADVISORY has been issued for Teller, Fremont and El Paso Counties until 8:00 p.m.. Creeks, streams and low lying areas will experience areas of high water.

5:07 p.m. – A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been issued for SE El Paso and northern Pueblo Counties until 5:30 p.m. 60 mph winds are likely. Please more indoors and away from windows as this storm moves east.

4:30 p.m. – A FLASH FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Fremont, Pueblo and Custer Counties until 7:15 p.m.. A thunderstorm has been producing heavy rain over the area for the last hour and flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Wetmore, the Junkins Burn Scar and the Hardscrabble drainage basin are included in this flash flood warning. Be aware of quick changing water levels. Turn around, don’t drown!
