The Heat Continues 6-27-18

TONIGHT: After a very hot day, temperatures drop to the 50s and 60s. A few places on the Plains could stay near 70 by early tomorrow morning. Skies remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.

TOMORROW: Another scorcher of a day is expected tomorrow with highs returning to the 90s and triple digits. Some areas may even experience temperatures a degree or two warmer than today. Record highs will once again be challenged in Colorado Spring and Pueblo. One notable difference is that it will be breezier with higher fire danger. Red Flag Warnings are out for some counties from Noon to 9 p.m. Skies start sunny with clouds building by the afternoon. A few isolated storms will be possible with the main threats being lightning and gusty winds. Not much rain will be produced by any storms that develop.

EXTENDED: Hot temperatures and isolated storms are expected again on Friday. Highs may be a few degrees cooler in many areas. The bigger cool down arrives on Saturday as a cold front passes through early in the day. Temperatures will not heat up as much as a result of the cold front. This pattern change will also bring slightly better chances for storms to the region through the weekend and lasting into Monday. While temps are cooler during this timeframe, they heat up again into next week.
