2nd man guilty for drug-related murder in Peyton gets life
The second man found guilty after a brutal killing because of missing drugs will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Anthony Loya was found guilty back in April of kidnapping and murdering 23-year-old Lawrence Gloster in 2017. Gloster was shot 13 times and suffered blunt force trauma.
Loya was sentenced to life in prison without parole Monday.
Loya was the second person found guilty after the murder. Jorge Galvan-Flores was reportedly the person who ordered the murder of Gloster due to missing methamphetamine. Galvan-Flores was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Loya wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger. During Loya’s trial, jurors told the prosecution they found him guilty because he cooperated with the plan and didn’t do anything to stop it.
Six of Loya’s family members asked for leniency during Monday’s sentencing. District Judge Eric Bentley handed down the sentence at about 2:40 p.m.
During Galvan-Flores’ sentencing, a statement from Gloster’s mother was made. Gloster’s mother focused on the time that she lost with her son. She said she tried to forgive the executioners but couldn’t forgive the cowardly act.
