The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man suspected of robbing two stores within a half-hour Monday night in Pueblo West.
According to a news release sent Tuesday, deputies were called for robberies at a Safeway store on N. Market Plaza and a Walmart on N. McCulloch Blvd.
A clerk at the Safeway told deputies a man threatened the clerk with a gun and demanded money before fleeing with an unknown amount of cash at about 6:20 p.m. He then went to the Walmart and did the same thing, but the clerk yelled for security, and the man ran off empty-handed. He was seen in a white Jeep Compass at a nearby car wash.
It took just 12 hours for deputies to identify the suspect as 43-year-old Ted Bartelli. Arrest warrants for armed robbery have been issued and deputies are looking for Bartelli.
A third robbery is also being investigated, but it’s not believed to be linked to Bartelli. Deputies said a marijuana dispensary on E. Enterprise Drive was robbed at gunpoint at about 8:30 p.m. The suspect got away with cash and marijuana products.
