Updates on Fort Carson brigade combat teams
The 4th ID’s Commanding General gave an update on the four brigade combat teams at Fort Carson on Thursday.
The 3rd Armored Brigades just returned from Poland last fall. The group is currently preparing for its next deployment, which hasn’t been announced yet.
The 2nd Infantry Brigade deployed to Afghanistan in March.
The 1st Stryker Brigade deployed in April, also to Afghanistan.
On Thursday, the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade shipped out its aircrafts and equipment for a 9-month deployment this summer to Europe and parts of the Middle East.
Major General Randy George told KRDO that a decision has not been made as far as the 2nd Infantry Brigade becoming an Armored Brigade and the possibility of relocating the brigade to a different post.
