A few storms today, snow tomorrow – 4/23/18

TODAY: We will see a mix of clouds and sun today with more mild temperatures in the 60s and 70s. You’ll feel 50s up in the mountain cities. A disturbance will be pushing through which will trigger a few afternoon showers and storms, especially in the mountains. Postpone any afternoon hiking plans as lightning could be a threat!

TONIGHT: A cold front will approach the area tonight which will increase those wind speeds. A few showers will be possible, but most areas will stay dry and mostly cloudy. Lows cool to the 30s and 40s.

EXTENDED: It looks as though rain and snow activity will become more widespread through the afternoon and evening hours. Accumulations will be light and will be contained to grassy areas. Look for a trace to an inch through the Palmer Divide, a trace to 2″ in places through Teller County. 1-3+” is possible through the peaks in the Sangres and the Wets.
