College student from Colorado Springs killed in Arizona hit-and-run

A 21-year-old man from Colorado Springs was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday night while jogging near his university in Phoenix, Arizona.

Police say Taylor White died on the scene and that the suspect is still on the loose.

White was hit in the crosswalk at North 31st Avenue and West Camelback Road. Police said he had a green light and that a white SUV moved around cars to enter the intersection.

White was a student at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, but he’s originally from the Springs and has family in the area. His Facebook page says he attended Pine Creek High School. ( PHOTOS )

According to ABC15, White was about three weeks away from getting married. His fiancee is also a Grand Canyon University student. White was studying to become an athletic trainer and was a junior at GCU.

Taylor’s father, Nate, told KRDO that their family will “never get over this tragedy, but know Taylor is with God.”
