Six people and five pets without homes following structure fire on Aug. 28, investigation underway
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)-- A structure fire at the 2000 block of E. Pikes Peak Ave. has left six people and five pets without homes.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to the fire that broke out around 9:32 a.m. on Monday, August 28. It wasn't five minutes later when they issued a second alarm for the fire.

Around 11:20 a.m., about two hours later, the CSFD tweeted that the fire was under control and crews were monitoring the area for hotspots.
They stated four units were impacted, six people and five total pets were displaced, and that the cause of the fire was now under investigation.
Fire is under control. Crews will remain on scene monitoring for hotspots.
