21-year-old man arrested in Pueblo following an in-progress burglary
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO)-- A 21-year-old man wanted on several outstanding warrants, has now been arrested following a burglary in progress.
Deputies with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on the afternoon of Sunday, August 13, at the 1300 block of Granite St.
According to a witness, they reported seeing a man breaking into a home at about 12:30 p.m. and stated he had jumped out of the window and was running westbound from the home.
The first deputy to arrive at the scene, according to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, reported seeing the man trying to hide on the property of a home at the 4100 block of W. 13th St.
As other deputies arrived at the scene, they began to search for the man on the property, which also had several campers at the site.
Deputies reported discovering one camper that was locked from the inside and noticed movement in the camper.
Deputies reported giving several verbal commands for the occupants of the camper to come out. One man who stepped out of the camper was questioned and told deputies there was another person in the camper and gave deputies permission to search the inside.
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office stated deputies located a man, now identified as Bobby Eldridge, 21, hiding underneath some pillows. He was identified as the suspect involved in the burglary.
Eldridge was arrested for second-degree burglary, first-degree trespassing, criminal mischief, and on five outstanding warrants with bonds totaling $123,500.
Eldridge has now been booked into the Pueblo County Jail.
