Many people watched the eclipse from Garden of the Gods

Many people watched the Great American solar eclipse from Garden of the Gods Monday.

As the moon crossed over the sun, the rock formations went dark, giving an ominous look and feel to the area.

Many people expected it to get way darker than it did.

About 50 people showed up to watch the eclipse with the gorgeous Garden of the Gods formation in the background.

The eclipse lasted for a few minutes before the sun came back out over the formations.
