Summary of Written Comments FOR Ballot Issue 6A:

Vote YES on 6A for Faster Emergency Response and Local Accountability.

Peyton is growing rapidly. Our population has increased, leading to a significant rise in 911 calls—over 550 last year alone. Currently, 72% of voters believe our fire risk has increased. However, Peyton Fire relies almost entirely on volunteers. While their service is valued, it is increasingly difficult to attract and retain volunteers, especially during weekday business hours. Relying on volunteers who must drive to the station before responding to your emergency creates delays.

Issue 6A solves this problem by hiring some full-time firefighter/EMTs. This ensures trained professionals are immediately available to respond to medical emergencies and fires, drastically reducing response times when seconds count.

This measure also addresses critical infrastructure needs. The cost of fire engines has nearly doubled since 2020. This funding will modernize aging facilities and maintain reliable equipment to protect our first responders and residents.

This is a fiscally responsible solution.

The District's mill levy has remained constant since 2006, but our needs and population have changed.

Voters agree that the District spends taxpayer money wisely. The cost is modest: approximately $33 per year per $100,000 of a home’s market value. Currently, Peyton must often rely on neighboring districts like Falcon for help. Passing 6A reduces our reliance on other communities and ensures Peyton residents receive the professional fire and medical protection we deserve.

Vote YES on 6A to protect our homes, families, and community.
