MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - An investigation is underway into an overnight house fire in Manitou Springs.

Fire crews were called to the intersection of Midland Ave. and Pawnee Ave., just after 1:30 a.m. Friday. When they arrived they found a fast moving fire that quickly involved the entire home.

According to Manitou Springs Fire Chief John Forsett, all the residents were able to get out safely but a pet is still missing at this hour. We're told crews had trouble getting the first fire hydrant open, so they had to find another source of water.

Crews from Manitou Springs, Crystal Park, and Green Mountain Falls agencies, assisted in getting this fire under control. The initial call to emergency services suggested an explosion occurred before the fire, but that's still being looked into at this time.
