‘Bald 4 Bucks’ 15th annual fundraiser at Rampart High School raises money for cancer research
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Students shaved their heads at Rampart High School Friday, raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
2022 marked the 15th year the school has held the fundraiser and they've raised nearly $600,000 since the start. Rampart is the number one donor nationwide to the LLS.
The event is more than just hair, or even raising money. The school's pride and community spirit shine brightly every year with so many students and staff calling Friday "the best day of the year."

The event was started back in the early 2000s when a popular teacher was diagnosed with cancer and the school held their first "Bald 4 Bucks" to raise money for her and her family.
Unfortunately, she passed away. But, several years later, her son brought the event back and it's been running strong ever since.
The school has big goals for the money they raise and the awareness they bring, one shaved head at a time.
