DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says one woman was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into the death of a 3-month-old girl.

Deputies arrested 34-year-old Amanda Anderson Tuesday afternoon and booked her into the Douglas County Detention Facility.

On August 26, deputies were dispatched to a medical call regarding a 3-month-old girl in the 14,000 block of Lexington Drive. While deputies were en route, they were told that paramedics had transported the unconscious baby to a nearby hospital where she died.

Detectives investigated the death and learned that the baby was under the care and supervision of Anderson, a daycare provider in Douglas County.

The sheriff's office said Anderson had been issued five cease and desist orders through the Colorado Department of Human Services prior to the incident and two additional cease and desist orders since.

Anderson is being charged with child abuse resulting in death and has a $50,000 bond.

Deputies say this is still an active and ongoing investigation.
