COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo (KRDO)--

Cooler temperatures and higher moisture will bring an end to the extreme fire danger across the Southeast Plains of Colorado.

Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine for most of the day, and a 60 percent chance for rain showers by afternoon. High temperatures will only get up into the lower 50s and winds will still be pretty brisk, so plan on wearing a light jacket when spending time outdoors.

Snow showers are likely Sunday night for Woodland Park, Cripple Creek and Monument, but very little will stick around.

Expect sunshine and cool conditions on Monday with high temperatures in the mid 50s.

Warmer and drier weather returns to the area for the rest of the week.
