KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department worked Thursday afternoon to peacefully end a standoff in an east Colorado Springs neighborhood. Residents in the area of the 1800 block of Monteagle Street were told to stay inside while police searched for a suspect believed to be in a nearby home.

The situation began at 5:15 p.m. and ended hours later. A duty lieutenant confirmed to KRDO that a 31-year-old male suspect was taken into custody around 8:10 p.m.

Police said the suspect was possibly armed, but thankfully there were no injuries.

"There is police activity related to a wanted person search," said an alert from CSPD Public Affairs. "You are asked to stay indoors; please lock and stay away from windows and doors."
