Inmate death at El Paso County Jail under investigation
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating an inmate death that happened at the El Paso County Jail Friday night around 9:50 p.m.
The male inmate died despite life saving measures from on scene first responders, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. It's not clear how or why the inmate died at this time.
The inmate's identity won't be released until the Coroner's Office makes a positive identification and his next of kin is notified, says EPCSO.
CSPD has assumed responsibility for the investigation. This article will be updated as we learn more.
