The School Buzz: D20 3rd-graders give gifts to local firefighters

Each year, 3rd-grade students at Antelope Trails Elementary School are invited to give back to their community. This year they gave back to local firefighters.

The students came up with their own idea to give Westcott firefighters handmade clay helmets, all to simply say "thank you" for their service.

"Giving back" is something students in the school’s Art Appreciate Club do every year through special projects. The whole effort is led by Trudy Vick, the school's art teacher. Needless to say, the firefighters were very excited and gracious, receiving these helmets.
