Driver and teenage passenger die in Colorado Springs car crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Coroner's Office has identified two individuals who died due to a crash on Highway 83 and Powers Boulevard around 5:16 p.m. on July 30.

According to the coroner, the deceased driver of a Kia involved in the crash has been identified as 38-year-old Allysa Burgoon, also known as Allysa Chrisman. The deceased passenger in the vehicle was identified as a 17-year-old juvenile male.

Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says an initial investigation found that a Ford F-350 pulling a dump trailer was traveling eastbound on Highway 83 when a Kia Niro made a left turn from westbound Highway 83 onto southbound Powers Boulevard.

The front of the Ford truck hit the passenger side of the Kia, says CSPD. Police say the driver of the Kia, identified as Allysa Burgoon, was pronounced dead on the scene. The 17-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where he later died on July 31, says police.

According to law enforcement, speed and alcohol are not considered to have been factors in the crash.

The incident marks the  37^th and 38^th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2026, according to CSPD. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact police at (719) 444-7000 or, to remain anonymous, call (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.
