Police investigating armed home invasion that left one person seriously injured

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is investigating an armed home invasion that left one person with serious injuries Monday night.

According to the police, officers were dispatched to an assault in progress and home invasion involving weapons at approximately 9:46 p.m. on July 13 near the 2500 block of Hancock Expressway.

CSPD says when officers arrived, they found one victim suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement reports that an investigation found that two suspects forcibly entered the victim's apartment and assaulted the victim. The suspects left the scene before officers arrived, says CSPD.

The suspects have not been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
