A Hot and Rainy Week Ahead

Good afternoon southern Colorado!

Hopefully you've found ways to stay cool on this scorcher of a Sunday. Definitely a great day to hit up the local pool! As expected, we've seen temperatures soar into the 90s across the region with some of you topping the 100° mark. It may sound like a broken record but more heat is on the way! Don't fret though, by next weekend we'll be back to near normal temperatures for this time of the year.

As we head into the evening hours we'll see those temperatures hang around the 90s with a few showers and thunderstorms dotting the region. Not everyone will see rain but keep that in mind if you have any outdoor activities.

As we kickoff the start of the workweek things will remain hot and we'll start to see increasing chances for rain. Most of the rain chances this week will be the highest during the afternoon and evening hours. While we do need the rain what we don't need is intense amounts of rain during a short period of time. We'll certainly have to keep an eye on this especially for those areas prone to seeing flash flooding.

Later on in the workweek we'll see temperatures finally start to ease back into the 80s with the rain chances remaining on the menu.
