New road closure in Colorado Springs for utility work

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- You'll want to be aware of a new road closure on the east side of town. Starting today, Feb. 12, Barnes Rd. will be closed between Antelope Dr. and Marksheffel Rd. Crews will be in the area for about a week to complete major underground utility work.

During this time drivers should plan for extra time on the road and seek alternative routes. There are detours set in place for the area, drivers along Peterson Rd. will either be directed to Stetson Hills Blvd. or Carefree Cir. to access Marksheffel Rd. For those of you wanting to access businesses along Barnes Rd.     you'll take Antelope Ridge Dr.
