Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum, mobile hair salon offers discounted haircuts to raise awareness of motorcycle safety

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Friday, a Colorado Springs hair salon and the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum partnered with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to raise awareness of motorcycle safety.

From 10:30 a.m. until noon on Aug. 12, Lisa's Mobile Salon is offering a 50% discount on haircuts for riders and others who attend the event.

According to officials, this is part of CDOT's campaign to encourage riders to wear helmets, gloves, and boots to avoid injury while riding.

To date, CDOT says there have been 82 motorcyclists killed on Colorado roads.

Thursday evening, Colorado State Patrol (CSP) reported a deadly crash involving a motorcycle in Teller County. According to CSP, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

According to CDOT, 2020 was the deadliest year on record for motorcyclists in Colorado with 140 fatalities. CDOT says most of the riders killed were not wearing helmets.

The event lasts until noon at the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum, 19 N Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
