COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo (KRDO)--

RED FLAG fire danger is part and parcel of this weekend's weather. On Saturday afternoon the official high temperature of 90 degrees in Colorado Springs was a new record for the city. A weak weather system will cool the area down a bit on Sunday, but high temperatures will still be in the upper 70s to lower 80s, very warm for this time of year. There's no rain in the forecast, so expect high fire danger as well.

No rain is expected for Southeast Colorado for next week, and temperatures will continue to run well above average.

Please avoid any open burning.
