Man shot during fight at Garden of the Gods Motel

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday evening at the Garden of the Gods Motel in Colorado Springs.

Around 11:20 p.m., police responded to a shooting near the 2900 block of West Colorado Avenue. The officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg in the motel's parking lot. Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital.

Police say a disturbance between two men turned into a physical fight in the parking lot. During the altercation, one of the men pulled out a firearm and shot the other, causing a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is still investigating the incident.
