2 injured in late night shooting near Memorial Park in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating a late night shooting that sent two people to the hospital.

The incident happened on the 1600 block of E. Pikes Peak Ave., in the vicinity of Memorial Park, around 11 p.m. Sunday. When responding officers arrived on the scene they found two people with apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries.

Officers interviewed several people on scene and collected evidence. At this time no suspects have been arrested, and investigators have not released any suspect information. The Colorado Springs Police Department says there is no danger to the public.
