Suspect in Pueblo shooting killed during standoff

The suspect in Tuesday’s shooting in Pueblo was involved in a standoff with police at a mobile home park in northeast Pueblo and is now dead.

Police and SWAT officers were at a mobile home park on Constitution Road shortly after noon Friday. Officers found the suspect in Tuesday’s shooting barricaded inside a home.

PPD confirmed that the suspect was the alleged shooter who killed 23-year-old Wayne Riddock after an argument near 11th and Iola streets. The suspect hasn’t been identified yet.

Six officers fired shots, according to the department. It’s not clear at this point if the suspect fired shots. The suspect was killed and the standoff was over before 1:30 p.m.

A 23-year-old man is dead following an overnight shooting in Pueblo.

Investigators tell KRDO Newschannel 13 that there was some sort of argument between people in a white truck and black car on the corner of 11th and Iola Streets, around 2 a.m. Tuesday. That’s when neighbors heard gunshots.

The victim’s body was found after officers responded to a call of a man lying in the street around 4 a.m.

Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Wayne Riddock.

At this time no one is in custody and no suspects have been named. However, Pueblo Police say there is no threat to the community.

Officers will be at the shooting scene for most of the day, as this investigation is still in its early stages. Stay tuned to KRDO Newschannel 13 for the latest information.
