Woman spits in officer’s face during arrest in Colorado Springs

A man has been arrested and a juvenile female is being held at junvenile detention facility following a disturbance early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to a residence near the Woodmen Valley Shopping Center just before 4 a.m. for reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, an officer broke up the disturbance while detaining 20-year-old Charles Vigil. The woman then attacked the officer, striking him multiple times on the head.

The officer was able to hold Vigil and the woman to the ground while more officers arrived. Both parties were then taken into custody.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she later spit in a second officer’s face.

Vigil was served and released for obstruction. The woman was arrested for second-degree assault on a peace officer. She is currently being booked into a juvenile detention facility.

The first officer who responded to the scene was treated and released for minor injuries.
