STEM School shooting suspects appear in court
STEM School shooting suspects, Devon Erickson, 18, and Alec McKinney, 16, appeared in court Wednesday.
According to the Associated Press, McKinney will be tried as an adult. KRDO’s Denver affiliate reports that the defense plans to hold a reverse transfer hearing to move the case against McKinney back to juvenile court.
According to court documents online, Erickson and McKinney each face 48 counts. They include the following:

The next court date was set for June 7.
The shootings at the STEM School Highlands Ranch on May 7 killed 1 student and injured 8 others.
Erickson and McKinney were arrested at the school and investigators say they opened fire inside using handguns.
The charges were listed in electronic court records. It wasn’t clear if McKinney was being charged as an adult.
Erickson and McKinney were scheduled to appear in court on May 10, but the hearing was pushed back to Wednesday.
