Crews respond to structure fire in east Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs firefighters responded to a structure fire at 2640 E. Monument early Wednesday morning.

The two-alarm fire happened at a one level eight-plex on 2640 E. Monument St. The fire started in a bathroom and spread to an attic.

Seven people are currently displaced. Two residents were treated and released on the scene. No firefighters were injured while responding to the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The public is asked to avoid the area. KRDO will work to bring you updates.
