Masked thief could be linked to robbery shooting in Pueblo

Pueblo police say the masked bandit who robbed an Academy Bank inside a Walmart in late November could also be connected to another robbery where a victim was shot and seriously injured.

We reported on the Academy Bank robbery on Nov. 27, and police say the suspect fled in a white, four-door truck. The truck was recovered a little bit later and was found to have stolen plates.

Tuesday, Pueblo police issued an update saying the same suspect could be involved with a robbery in a parking lot of the 29th Street Shopping Center that happened on Nov. 3. A victim was seriously injured after being shot, and the masked suspect left in a similar white truck.

If you have any information about either of the robberies, call Det. Ryan Torres at 719-320-6037 or call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP.
