Afternoon showers and storms – 8/9/18

TODAY: We start the day out with sunshine and comfy temps, but by the afternoon, showers and storms develop. These will occur between 12-3PM today, first over the mountains and then in the lower elevations. Severe weather is not expected for the first time in several days. Highs today will be in the 70s in the mountains, and 80s to near 90 in the lower terrain.

TONIGHT: We will be mostly clear and cool tonight. Mountain cities will feel the 40s for lows, while 50s and 60s are in the forecast for the lower elevations.

EXTENDED: Non-severe scattered showers and storms are in the forecast through Friday before the pattern really changes. Saturday and Sunday look dry and warm with plenty of sunshine. We stay quiet until Tuesday when moisture returns to the area.
