Colorado Springs homicide victim leaves behind young son

Police have identified the woman shot and killed on Airport Rd. Sunday night.

Police say 21-year-old Brandie Preciado was the woman who was shot in a car at the Canyon Ridge Mobile Home Park in Southeastern Colorado Springs. That’s in the 5100 block of Airport Rd.

Maimouna Diaw first met Preciado when she started dating Diaw’s son about 5 years ago.

Diaw describes her as sweet, polite and helpful. Diaw said she doesn’t know why anyone would have wanted to kill Preciado.

“To me, she’s like a child, like a kid, you know? And for somebody to do that to her, I just can’t even imagine,” Diaw said.

Diaw said Preciado leaves behind a young son.

Police said the shooting was not random, that Preciado, the male victim, and the suspect all had a connection.

Police found William Camacho, Jr, the main suspect in the shooting late Wednesday night.
