Colorado State Patrol is investigating the death of a motorcyclist this morning after a deadly crash.

The crash happened at the intersection of Horizon View Drive and Flagstone Street in El Paso County, near Security.

Troopers say 24-year-old Stephon J. Edwards was traveling north on Horizon View Drive at the time of the crash. According to troopers, he was moving at a high rate of speed and was unable to make the left hand curve. The motorcycle crashed, throwing Edwards from the bike.

Edwards was not wearing a helmet, and was declared dead at the scene.

Troopers do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
