Big Game prompts extra DUI patrols across Southern Colorado
The Broncos aren’t the only team working hard Sunday night. Officers across the state will be out in force to insure that drunk drivers don’t ruin your Super Bowl post-game plans.
Super Bowl game day has become one of the biggest drunk driving days of the year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The numbers are even worse in states that have teams in the Super Bowl.
Colorado State Patrol says that 2014, the last year the Broncos were in the Super Bowl, was the second deadliest day ever on Colorado roads.
State Patrol, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, and Colorado Springs Police are all putting extra patrols on the road. Saturation patrols, which began Friday, will remain in effect until 3:00am Monday
