Security-Widefield standoff ends peacefully

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says a standoff near Watson Junior High School in Security-Widefield has ended peacefully.

Deputies were originally called to the home on Bradley Street about a domestic situation.

The sheriff’s office said someone was barricaded in the home.

It turns out both a man and woman were inside the house. The woman eventually came out and talked to deputies. The man talked to deputies on the telephone and asked them to leave. Deputies agreed and say no charges will be pursued.

The situation affected some Watson Junior High students who couldn’t go home at the end of the school day because their streets were closed.
