John Suthers makes mayoral run official

Republican John Suthers is the latest big name to officially run for Colorado Springs mayor.

Suthers made the announcement in front of a several supporters at Ivywild School this morning.

A former District Attorney for the 4th Judicial District, and more recently term-limited as Colorado attorney general, Suthers outlined his plan if he is elected mayor.

Suthers says his focus will be on improving relations at City Hall, securing money for public infrastructure and promoting job growth.

El Paso County Commissioner Amy Lathen, former Springs Mayor Mary Lou Makepeace, former Springs Councilman Joel Miller and former real estate broker Justine Herring have all said they are running.

Municipal elections are April 7th.
