Bars prepare for big crowds, potential risks Sunday

As the Super Bowl approaches, bars throughout Colorado are getting ready to attract big crowds.

Businesses like Rhinos Sports & Grill and Holy Cow Pub & Grill said they are preparing by ordering more food and drinks and having extra personnel on Sunday.

They’re also preparing to keep patrons safe. Rhinos’ general manager said they keep the phone numbers to cabs handy, to call them if a customer has had too much to drink. Holy Cow’s owner said there will be cabs in their parking lot for customers who need them.

Different law enforcement agencies like the Colorado and Pueblo police departments, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado Department of Transportation have said they will increase their patrol throughout the weekend, starting Friday. They will have officers, deputies and troopers specifically keeping an eye out for drivers driving under the influence.
