Man killed in crash near Manzanola

Colorado State Troopers have released information about an accident on Highway 50 Thursday morning that killed a Thornton man.

Troopers report the one-vehicle accident happened on Highway 50 just east of Manzanola around 9:00 a.m.

The pick up truck struck an irrigation ditch, crossed a dirt road, and then hit an irrigation pipe and came to rest in a field.

The driver was transported to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta where he died.

Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash. The cause of death is still under investigation.

Troopers have not released the name of the man killed.
